SCORAD (SCORing Atopic Dermatitis)

Composite atopic dermatitis severity: extent + intensity + subjective symptoms. SCORAD = A/5 + 7B/2 + C (range 0-103).

Evidence tier: Validated instrument.

Formula / logic

SCORAD = A/5 + 7B/2 + C. A = % BSA involved (0-100). B = sum of 6 intensity items each 0-3 (range 0-18). C = pruritus VAS (0-10) + sleep-loss VAS (0-10). Maximum 103. Severity bands: <25 mild; 25-50 moderate; >50 severe.

Interpretation

Clinician-scored composite. The objective SCORAD (oSCORAD) omits the C subjective component. Dryness for B is graded on uninvolved skin.
